Regulations for Flying Fields
CONSTITUTION OF COVENTRY AND DISTRICT MODEL AERO CLUB
TITLE The Club shall be known as "The Coventry and District Model Aero Club". The official address of which shall be that of the Secretary.
OBJECTS The objects shall be to encourage all aspects of constructing and flying model aircraft by members.
MEMBERSHIP Membership of the Club shall be open to any person subject to the following.
That upon being accepted by the club as a member, the rules and constitution of the club are abided by and upheld by the member.
All members will have the right to take part in and vote at, all general meetings of the club, and to make nominations, or be nominated for election to the committee.
REGISTER OF MEMBERS The current membership list of the Club shall remain in the custody of the Membership Secretary.
Executive Committee shall consist
of the following Officers:
Chairman Vice Chairman
Honorary Secretary Honorary Treasurer
Membership Secretary General Committee Member
Safety Officer B.M.F.A.
Delegate
Competition Secretaries to cover all
competition aspects of the club. All these officers to be
elected.
Four Committee members shall form a quorum.
The Chairman shall hold a casting vote in case of equality on votes
In the absence of the Chairman, at any meeting, the Vice Chairman at that meeting, or a Chairman shall be elected by those present to conduct that meeting, and who shall hold full powers of the Chairman for that meeting.
The Executive Committee shall be responsible for the organisation and administration of the club.
The members of the Committee shall hold office for a period from one A.G.M. to the next.
The Hon Secretary shall maintain a record of each Annual General Meeting, Extraordinary General Meeting, and other such meetings and proceedings of the Club as required by the Committee.
(h1) The Hon Treasurer shall be responsible for the finances of the Club, and shall present a statement of funds audited by a nominated auditor, made up to the end of financial year, 30th November at the Annual General Meeting.
(h2) An account shall be maintained in the name of the Club with a nominated bank or building society, and withdrawal or transfer of any part of these funds shall require the signature of any two of the following, Hon Treasurer, Chairman, Hon Secretary.
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE
The election of Officers and Members of Committee shall take place at the A.G.M. of the Club, any two members of the Club may nominate an eligible member for election.
Nominations shall be in writing and signed by the nominee, received by the Hon Secretary no later than the first Club meeting in November preceding the A.G.M.
Proxy voting shall not be permitted.
Postal voting shall not be permitted other than by prior agreement with the Committee.
In the event of a Committee member vacating his position, the General Committee Member will take his place, and a new one will be elected.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The A.G.M. of the Club shall be held on the first Club meeting in December.
Notice of the A.G.M. of the club shall be announced to the members on the last Club meeting in October.
The business to be transacted at the Annual General Meeting shall be;-
Minutes of previous A.G.M.
Matters arising.
To receive written annual report from each member of the Executive Committee.
To receive an audited statement of Club funds.
To hold elections for posts as Committee Members.
To appoint an auditor for the ensuing year.
To vote on motions listed in Agenda.
To set the annual subscriptions.
EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
By resolution of the Committee or request of not less than 25% of Club Members in writing to Hon Secretary, an E.G.M. shall be convened.
Notice of such a meeting shall be announced at three (3) successive Club meetings by the Hon Secretary, within eight (8) weeks of the request for that meeting.
The notice of meeting shall state the business for which that meeting has been called and only that business shall be discussed.
QUORUM No business shall be transacted at any General Meeting unless 15% of the current membership of the Club is in attendance and an E.G.M. shall be dissolved.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
The amount of the annual subscription shall be fixed by resolution passed at the A.G.M and shall be payable within four (4) meetings following that A.G.M.
Any new members joining between 1 st July to 30th September pay half Annual Club fee, between 1st October and 31st December quarter Club fee. The current joining fee plus B.M.F.A. insurance is still applicable.
Each member of the Club shall be issued with a copy of the Constitution and Club rules.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS Each member shall receive a membership card which will constitute evidence of current membership of the club, this shall be initialed by the Membership Secretary for the current year and may be asked for scrutinisation by any other club member at any function of the Club.
EXPULSION OF MEMBERS By resolution of the whole Committee any member who disregards the rules of the Club and acts in manner detrimental to the Club, advised to him in writing by the Secretary, shall be expelled by announcement at the next available Club meeting of the committee's decision.
CLUB MEETINGS The Club shall meet on the first and third Monday in every month or as otherwise advised by Committee.
The following rules are designed to ensure the personal safety of all members or visitors, as well as to eliminate as far as possible any unnecessary damage to models and equipment. Each member is to assume that he or she as an individual is a club safety officer and has the right to advise any other member of any infringement of the club rules.

REGULATIONS TO BE OBSERVED BY All MEMBERS ON CLUB FLYING FIELDS.
RADIO CONTROL
Pit / Transmitter Pound Area- The first R/C flyers to arrive will establish a Pit Area against the boundary of the field. At Wolston, the Pit Area is to be against the top hedge immediately to the right of the entrance gate.
Launch Area- The launch area is to be established at a point towards the centre of the field which is at least 50 paces cross wind from the pit area. where possible, it should be slightly upwind.
Flying Area- No model aircraft is to be flown over, or within 50 paces of the Pit Area at any time. Where both glider and powered aircraft are being flown, then glider pilots must ensure that towlines or bungees are laid out well clear of the Launch Area.
No R/C flying to take place, whilst mowing / rolling is in progress.
Transmitter Discipline.
All transmitters to display correct frequency ribbon / channel number.
Before flying commences on club fields, a pegboard should present. All members flying R/C are advised to make their own pegboard so that one will always be available.
All transmitters shall be placed in a "pound" at the Pit Area when not in use, having ensured they are switched OFF.
A transmitter shall not be removed from the "Pound" for use unless a frequency peg of the correct identification is attached to the aerial.
NOTE:- Club members will establish similar Pit / Pound / Launch / Flying Areas when flying together on fields which are not totally within the jurisdiction of the Coventry Club.
ALWAYS:
CONTROL-LINE
FLYING
All control-line models must be flown on the
top far corner at Wolston field.
FREE-FLIGHT
This type of model will
normally fly downwind of launch point.
All such models will, therefore, be launched near the upwind
boundary in such a position that the flight path will not
pass over or between the R/C Pit and Launch Areas.
VISITING
FLYERS
Visiting flyers may only fly on Club
fields when invited by current members, and only then when
covered by B.M.F.A. Insurance.
NOISE
No model exceeding noise level recommended by Department of the Environment Code shall be flown at any time.
At Wolston I.C. powered models shall not be flown before 10-30 hours or after 18-00 hours on any Sunday, or after 20-30 hours on any other evening.
Not more than Eight (8) aircraft powered by I.C. engines will be airborne at any one time.
FLYING
STANDARD
No member of the club not having
passed the "A" Certificate fixed wing standard of the
B.M.F.A. shall fly on club or public fields unless supervised
by a person having passed such standard.
MOBILE
PHONES
Any Mobile phone carried into the Pits
or Flight line area must be SWITCHED OFF.
THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO
EXPEL ANY MEMBERS WHO
PERSISTENTLY IGNORES THE RULES AFTER ADEQUATE WARNINGS
